Temple-Wilton Community Farm
Beloved Cows Gallery
The dairy herd is part of the farm's daily rhythm, with cows, calves, pasture, hay, milk, compost, and care all belonging to the life of the farm.
The farm's dairy herd.
Temple-Wilton Community Farm keeps a mixed herd that includes Ayrshire and Jersey cows. Calves remain with their mothers through their early months, and the herd is cared for in relation to pasture, hay, and the broader farm organism.
In the growing season the cows graze outside; in winter they are fed hay from the farm's land. Their place in the farm connects milk, fertility, fields, and community nourishment.
