The Cadmus Corporation, incorporated in the State of New Hampshire as a charitable organization in 1981 and registered as a non-profit tax-exempt entity with the federal Internal Revenue Service, has as its mission the support, financially through charitable donations, administratively through volunteer assistance, and educationally through workshops and courses, activities in the Southern New Hampshire area and elsewhere that are an extension and elaboration of the original work of Dr. Rudolf Steiner, Austrian philosopher, scientist and artist (1862-1925).
This includes the work that has become known in the world as Waldorf Education and Bio-dynamic Agriculture as well as those areas of endeavor that have been given new cultural impulses through Steiner's Spiritual Science or Anthroposophy, such as a body of knowledge concerning a modern path of spiritual self-development, an Anthroposophically-extended approach to medicine, the care of the developmentally disabled, new artistic impulses and new social forms inspired out of the worldview of Anthroposophy.
The agricultural work includes the acquisition and holding of conservation lands in order to promote agriculture and agricultural educational activities; protecting in perpetuity the quality of the environment and natural resources on these properties for the public benefit described in the respective conservation easement documents guiding these properties; and holding all buildings on such properties in support of the agricultural economy and cultural heritage benefits for local food production and for scenic and environmental protection.
